Happy August {and national planner day}! Time to check in and see how my July went. I’ll do the same thing as last month and check in using my ML planner’s goal categories, but will now do a general update in each category vs also listing my sub-goals in each category.

  • PERSONAL:
    • I did my June monthly reflection, Q2 compass, and updated my goals. Some were accomplished {woohoo!} and others needed to be revised a bit now that half the year has gone by and I have a clearer sense of what I want to accomplish in the 2nd half of the year.
  • FUN & RECREATION:
    • We planned and took a trip to visit my parents and stayed there about 3 weeks. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity given our job situations and was such a great and relaxing time. I also completed a Rubik’s cube for the first time in my life! Lastly, I watched the first season of DSAL haha.
  • WORK & LEARNING:
    • I finished FOUR books!
      • Simplicity Parenting {5/30-7/10}
      • Untamed {7/10-7/22}
      • Where the Crawdads Sing {7/22-7/27}
      • Grace, Not Perfection: Embracing Simplicity, Celebrating Joy {7/27-7/30}
  • FAMILY & RELATIONSHIPS:
    • I spent a lot of QT with my parents and while there saw my FIL and some aunts/cousins I hadn’t seen in a while. I also kept in touch with close friends.
  • HEALTH & WELLNESS:
    • I got back into a workout routine by running 5x/week after “slacking off” in the 2nd half of June.
  • SPIRITUAL & PERSONAL GROWTH:
    • I made mindfulness even more of a priority and started a new AM/PM routine consisting of mindfulness and reading {horoscope, verse of the day, and book}. My biggest accomplishment {because it’s made the biggest impact on me and my other goals} has been staying off SM for the most part. I’m still stressed about what’s going on and want it to be over already, but because I “turned off the noise” I’m more at peace and invest my energy in other things that are a better use of my time – like keeping in touch with friends and reading books as mentioned in my previous accomplishments.
  • FINANCIAL:
    • We saved more money than originally planned due to no childcare expenses which was an unexpected but nice surprise, refinanced, and met with a financial advisor.
  • PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
    • I cleaned the house before we left on vacation and it was amazing to come back knowing that. We also bought a grill and now have an idea of what patio furniture we want so we can keep homemaking.

How about you? How did your July go?
